In memory of

Dorota Zajac

September 24, 1967 -  February 25, 2022

Dorota Zajac, at home with the angels up above.

Loving mother to Sarah and Catherine, an adoring sister, aunt, and daughter. She will be dearly missed by family and friends alike, so many hearts touched by her limitless kindness.

Born September 24, 1967 in Andrychów, Poland at a time when the country was beginning to look outward. Like many in her generation she yearned to discover what possibilities awaited, setting out to create her own destiny.

Embodying the enterprising spirit that her family all possesses, she arrived in Canada at age 20, ready to work tirelessly in pursuit of success - not for herself, but to provide the best life she could for her newly born daughters. Some 9 years later she would be admitted into Canada’s premiere film and television union, IATSE 873, where she would go on to become an award winning make-up artist.

Over the years she would work with some of the biggest stars in film, but it was her daughters that brought her the most pride. Despite the long working hours, she always found the time to make memories with the girls. Whether it was her obsession with decorating the house for any holiday, taking them to dances classes, or making the girls garden to no end – she always found a way to make any activity special.

Dorota had a warmth about her that made everyone who knew her feel like a movie star. She showered those she loved with gifts – big and small, with endless affection, always thoughtful to the needs of others. Although her time with us was tragically cut short, she will remain in our hearts forever.
