In memory of

Doris Edwards

April 1, 1936 -  May 9, 2024

Doris Edwards, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 9th, 2024, at the age of 88. She was born on April 1, 1936, in Mabaruma, Guyana, and migrated to Canada in the 1980s. Doris is now reunited with her late husband, Joseph Edwards.

Doris will be fondly remembered by her surviving four children Joan, Lawrence, Monica, Cathy. She is also joining her late son Philip. Her legacy continues through her 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory.

Known affectionately as everyone’s granny, Doris had a heart of gold and a nurturing spirit. She dedicated her life to caring for others. Her home was a sanctuary of love and warmth, where laughter and joy abounded.

Doris touched the lives of countless people with her kindness and generosity.

In addition to her role as a devoted mother and grandmother, Doris was passionate about being a Jehovah Witness. She found joy in dancing, cooking, and gardening.

Doris’s presence brought light into the lives of those around her, and her absence will be deeply felt. Though she may be gone, but her love and legacy will continue to inspire and guide us.

A Visitation to celebrate Doris’s life will be held on Thursday May 16th from 9am-1pm at 7732 Mavis Road, Brampton ON L6Y5L5.

Sleep in peace, dear Doris. Your love and laughter will live on in our hearts forever.

I was able to see the beautiful love she had for her family with the memories she shared. She showed her love in many ways but a big one was with her cooking. She loved to feed others and it made her so happy. She had such a young spirit as she talked about wanting to travel more even at her late age. It was always nice to see her joke and make others and herself laugh. I'm grateful to have known the love she gave and be able to see the love she has for her family. May she rest in peace <3

I am also the sister of Iris Cadogan. Although my mother and I only met sister Doris once, when she visited Guyana, I was impressed by her. I also saw her a few times on video and chatted when she visited the Cadogans.
My condolences to the family.
