In memory of

Doreen Margaret Stinson

April 12, 1936 -  August 2, 2020

Our legendary beloved Doreen was born April 12,1936 and passed away Sunday August 2, 2020 at age 84 at 2:15 p.m at Providence Healthcare. She fought a long and courageous lengthy battle with breast cancer. We take comfort in knowing that she is now with her much loved husband John Steven Stinson and sister/best friend Joan.

She leaves behind her sisters Jane and Pat, her five beautiful children: George, Rocky, Michael, Geoff, Stephenie and much loved and adored grandchildren Ryan, Brandon, Caitlin, Cameron, Patrick, Jeremy, Matthew, Adam and Daniel.

Doreen had a strong love, commitment and dedication when she worked with the City of Toronto, Children's Services with children, families and staff over the years.

She loved to celebrate all seasons with her well planned events and spectacular outfits. She made a lot of memories which we will always treasure and remember. Her laugh and smile was so contagious and memorable. With family and friends she would cheer on with her favourite football team (Buffalo Bills), host Sunday gatherings with the Stinson clan and others and all you had to do was bring snacks. Her love of music { especially the oldies } is something we all learned to love and cherish. She had an incredible ability to draw you in with her story telling, we will miss sitting and listening to you talk about all your adventures.

Doreen had a special love for any pet that came into her life. Her dogs Jersey and Olive brought much comfort during her darkest days. She will be missed dearly.

On behalf of the family we would like to say a very special thank you and appreciation to all the doctors and nurses from the Michael Garron Hospital, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Providence Healthcare in their guidance and special medical care.

To our dear loved mother, nana and friend this journey ends as we say goodbye and we will forever embrace and cherish your memory that will remain embedded in our hearts. You are now an angel in heaven with your loved Saint Jude that will guide your children, grandchildren and friends in life. You are and will be missed dearly. Rest In Peace Sweet Soul.

Aunt Doreen was a special lady. She was kind and compassionate. She had a heart of gold. She was not only my mom's big sister but her best friend. She often visited my mother's grave and made it look special and cared for. She was a confident, funny, upbeat woman with a no non-sense attitude. My deepest condolences to her grieving family. Another good woman gone but not forgotten. May you rest in peace and party in heaven Aunt Doreen. Lots of love.
