In memory of

Doreen Damayanti Ramsaran

December 4, 1935 -  March 13, 2024

It is with profound sadness and a broken heart, that we announce the passing of our mother, Doreen Damayanti Ramsaran. Our family has lost our dearly cherised and beloved matriarch, the last of her generation.

Doreen or “D” as she was affectionately known, was born on December 4, 1935, in Guyana, South America and was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and cherished friend. She was pre-deceased by her husband, John (Johnny R, Sir) Ramsaran, her beloved sister, Flora (Florry) Ramsaran and her Mom, Mahadia Mohabeer (Iris Dass).

God took Mom home on Wednesday, March 13th. after a long and daunting struggle which saw her decline rapidly over the last 6 months. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends, the many admirers whom she influenced & loved ones for whom she cared.

Mom loved spending her time in her garden and reading books, magazines, her Daily Bread and bible passages. She loved phone calls from family and friends and singing along the to the Gaiter Gospel Hour show. She cherished the time spent with her family & friends, especially enjoying birthday celebrations, family trips, numerous summer picnics, Christmas parties and New Year’s Eve dances, which created lasting memories for us all.

In her professional life, Doreen was a civil servant and skilled Pitman graduate in secretarial administration. She had a genuine passion for helping family, extended family, friends, numerous colleagues and anyone who she encountered who were in need of fellowship. Her commitment to loving one another was unwavering. She made a positive impact on the lives of countless people as her love for them knew no boundaries and she found joy in the company of everyone.

Visitation for our Mother, will be held at Pine Hills Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough on Tuesday, March 19th from 4:00 - 8:00 pm & Wednesday, March 20th from 11:00 - 12:00 pm, followed by a celebration of her life from 12:00-1:30 pm, in the Pine Hills Chapel.

Mom will be interred at Pine Hills Cemetery, following her service.

Mom’s courage, vibrant spirit and loving nature will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, generosity and deep love for the many family members and friends who will all miss her dearly.

A garden of love grew in her heart...her light will forever shine in the Heavenly Sky & we will never again be apart.

Rest in Peace our Beloved….Until we meet again!
