In memory of

Doreen Chang-Soong

November 11, 1930 -  March 9, 2025

In the early morning hour at 4:25 am, Doreen Chang-Soong (nee Kong Fei Ying) passed away peacefully on March 9th, 2025.

Doreen was born in Guangdong, China on November 11, 1930 to Kong Qui Hong and Chong Ying Tai. She traveled to Georgetown, Guyana (then British Guiana) in 1946 and eventually married William Chang-Soong in 1950. They spent many loving years together until his death in 1996.
Together, they built a life filled with joy; running a successful grocery business and raising six beautiful children.

Doreen was a devoted wife and homemaker. She was a dedicated and loving mom to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Doreen leaves behind her children, Robert (Ranie), Edward (Lurner), David (Nina), Jean (Basil, deceased), Joseph (Sandra), and Elaine (Ken); her ten grandchildren, Sarah, Diane, Amanda, Jonathan, Jenessa, Lisa, Tina, Juliane, Melissa, and Candace; and her thirteen great-grandchildren, Tristan, Kayla, Emily, Javier, Jayden, Mia, Keira, Tamara, Sebastian, Lawson, Gabriella, William, and Harrison.

Doreen will be missed dearly by her loving family and friends. May she rest in peace.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of York Region in Doreen's memory (link provided in the Donations tab).
