In memory of

Donna Marie Murdock

January 31, 1949 -  October 28, 2022

MURDOCK, Donna Marie
Of Whitby, Ontario passed away unexpectedly at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto on October 28, 2022, at the age of 73. She was the beautiful daughter of the late John Henry and Elizabeth Katherine Sagriff (nee Dwyer). Survived by her dear sister Sharon (Adrian) Droog of Corbyville, Clinton Sagriff of Odessa and Josephine (Frank) Prevost of Shannonville. Predeceased by her devoted husband James Murdock, her brothers James, Edwin, Laverne, Firmen Sagriff and sister Anglea Fletcher. Donna was the loving mother of Shauna Marie Patterson (Scott) of Whitby, Ryan Michael Patterson of Fenlon Falls and Jeff Bryan (Debbie) of Kelowna B.C. She was absolutely adored by her grandchildren Kaysen, Keaton, Karlee, Alisha and Coltin. She will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Donna will be forever remembered by her many friends from Bell Canada and the Seniors Center in Whitby, Ontario. Donna cared deeply for her family, friends and neighbours. She did this not out of obligation, but simply because of who she was. There are very few people in this world that you cannot say one negative thing about and Donna was one of them. Her words were always kind, gentle and encouraging and she spoke them softly. She doted on her precious dogs Jake and Emma which will be carefully cared for by her children. She was passionate about gardening and created an absolutely stunning flower garden that was curated over many years. She enjoyed lunches with her friends, classes at the Whitby Senior Center and spending time with her cherished grandchildren. The pain of missing you will be a beautiful reminder of the absolute joy of loving you..
Visitation will be held at THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road, 905-579-6787) on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 10 am until time of Celebration of Life in the Chapel at 11 am. Donations will be gratefully accepted for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

Aunt Donna was an absolute treasure. She was so filled with love and kindness that her cup over flowed onto everyone lucky enough to be around her. I will miss her love, and joy and the late night talks we had. She never judged me and was always a tremendous help and calm in my life.

Shauna and Ryan, your mother was truly the sweetest, kindest, most generous woman. She did so much for everyone from meals to taking time to talk and show how much she truly cared about you. We loved watching her walk by with the dogs not missing a day we saw. Christmas was a time she always made special for some neighbours, and we were lucky ones! Oh Lordy, so 😋 yummy! And my fave a crochet tea towel. We are going to miss her sweetness and kindness. I won’t be able to walk by the house with Donna out gardening and stopping a minute to say hi.
We are so sorry for your loss of your Mom. Love, hugs, and prayers for all of you.
