In memory of

Donna Gail Niven

August 28, 1942 -  February 14, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Donna Gail Niven on February 14, 2021 at the Scarborough Health Network - Centenary hospital, age 78 years. Beloved wife of her late husband James Niven (1986). Donna will forever be remembered by her nephew Stephen Woodcock, niece Lori-Ann Woodcock, special friend Julie Rice, friend Delores Millar (Reggie's partner), childhood friends Beverley & Dave Smith, and friend Mary Kerr. Donna is reunited with her parents William and Gladys Woodcock; and brother Reggie Woodcock.

Donna was well known at Scarborough Wood Condos where she resided and sat on the Board as Secretary since 2014. Donna was a strong independent woman who offered help to many people. She worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant and sat on the Wigwamen Incorporated, Board of Directors since 1976, President (most recent position). She also served on the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto Board for five years, served as the Secretary-Treasurer of the North American Indian Club for twelve years and she was once voted Native Big Sister of the year.

Respecting Donna's wishes, she will be cremated and laid to rest by her late husband's side, James Niven at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. A celebration of life will be arranged at a later date when it is safe to do so, as Donna was serious about preventing the spread of covid-19.

If you have a moment on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at dusk to wish Donna well on her journey by offering a prayer, song, drum or your preference.

Thank you for your support and condolences during these difficult times, it is greatly appreciated.
