Donna and I met when we were 16 and 15 years old. She was very close to my family and had many happy times with us, especially at our summer BBQ's. Donna especially loved spending time with my children, grandkids and great-grandkids and was loved by all. Donna was a very loving and gentle person who will be missed by all of us. Rest in peace my dear friend. We love you and won't forget you.
Donna was a great person and friend. She will certainly be missed by many. Baamaapii Donna, till we meet again.
Donna was many things - strong, proud, independent, principled, devoted, and funny to mention just a few - and she will be missed by her friends and colleagues at Wigwamen Incorporated.
For 45 years she served as a volunteer on the Wigwamen Board, working tirelessly to develop affordable housing for the Indigenous community. 45 years of giving to the community. For Wigwamen, it is the final passing of a generation of leaders who were there in the beginning, and led it faithfully to where it is today.
It was, as she said in an interview in 2016, "a commitment...a commitment of the heart." Her heart was boundless.
My dearest Donna, I'm very thankful for all the memories you and I have build. Thank you. May you rest peacefully and your legacy continue to live on I will always love you.
My condolences to all of Donna's family and friends. She contributed a lot to make our home at Scarborough Wood an enjoyable place to reside. She will be missed.
