With much love and sadness, we announce that our benevolent elder Dong Hoi Kwan passed peacefully on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the MacKenzie Health Hospital in Richmond Hill, Ontario. He is 100 in the lunar calendar and 99 years young in the solar calendar. He was the beloved husband of 80 years to Tim Lee Kwan (née Cheung). Proud father to Danny Pui Kwai (Crystol), Jimmy Pui Wai (Tina), Miranda Pik Wah (Simon), Jack Pui Ching (Juliana), Alice Mei Wan (Tony), Peter Pui Chi (Maki), and last but not least Tiffany Pik Sai (Anthony). Delightfully kind grandfather to May, Raymond (Kim), Desmond (Rebecca), Richard, Michael, Flora, Carmen, Vivian, Taylor, Michelle, John and Matilda. Giggly great-grandfather to Ella and Marcus. Loving uncle to Bi Yi and Bi Ying and a supportive grand uncle to Lily, Ursula, 'Gah Fung,' and 'Ah Mei' (Sung Yeung). Playfully kind to his great-nephews (Ah Mei's two sons). He is the thunderous pillar of strength for his two brothers (and their descendants) in China who survive him. He is fondly remembered by his many friends, family, and colleagues. He was an iconic member and elder of the Lung Kong Tin Yee Association, Kwan Association, and the Toronto Chinatown Community. He will also be dearly missed by the many Kwan and Cheung family relatives across North America and overseas.
