In memory of

Donald K. Chisholm

May 6, 1939 -  November 3, 2022

The Chisholm family is saddened to announce the loss of Don, who passed away peacefully on November 3rd, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband to Kathleen Martin (K.C) for 42 happy years. Ever supportive father to David M. Chisholm. Don will also be dearly missed by his sister Anne-Louise Brookes (Betsy) Wolfville, Nova Scotia, brother Richard Brookes (Susan) Auckland, New Zealand. Predeceased by brother Major General John Robert Chisholm (Gwen).

Born in Nova Scotia, Don spent many of his earlier years travelling and living abroad, always seeking the next experience. From New Zealand, to Australia, to Europe, Asia, and South America, Don finally settled back to his home country of Canada. He proceeded to work for the North York Board of Education primarily as Property Manager for 27 Years. Don took the opportunity to reap the fruits of his labour by retiring at 60 and enjoyed his remaining years free to pursue his spirituality through Transcendental Meditation and Ayurvedic studies.

A Reception will be held on Monday, November 21st from 6:00 – 9:00 pm at York Funeral Centre.

In lieu of floral tributes, the Chisholm family kindly asks that you consider making a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada in Don’s memory. The Chisholm family greatly appreciates your ongoing support during this difficult time.

I Am Truly Saddened By The Loss Of Our Dear Friend, Husband and Father Don Chisholm.

Don's wife K.C. called me just about an hour ago to let me know Don had passed this morning at 6am.

Farewell Sweet Don.
When I heard you left us just hours ago I was moved to tears
I am laden with grief and warm thoughts of your love and friendship through those many wonderful years!

You and K.C. filled our lives with such tender and pure love
And now we must watch you take flight on the wings of that pure white dove

Our hearts go out to K.C. and David who loved you so much
How they will miss your humour and gentle loving touch

You lived to a higher principle Don, always so true and kind
Oh how it hurts that you have left us behind

But the precious gift you shared with us all will live forever in time
Each moment you made us smile or feel like we mattered, every one so sublime

Tomorrow starts without you dear friend but you will always be in our hearts
We love you more than words could ever say
Farewell my kindred spirit until we meet again!

Freda and I send you and David our deepest heartfelt condolences

Sorry to hear that Don passed away. He's a kind and caring Manager of the Property Management Department of the North York Board of Education, he had very good sense of humour, always brought laughters to the office. He remembered all his clients well, and solve the problems like magic, that makes our work easier, he’s a good mentor to us.

We also knew he’s a wonderful father, he’s very proud sharing the growing stages of David, how the little boy brighten his lives.

He’s a good friend, we met yearly to celebrate his birthday, he’s very happy letting us know how he enjoyed his retirement life with his family. We’re so proud of him in his success of his career, and his family.

Don, wishing you comfort and peace in the days ahead. We will miss you

My sincere condolences to your family.

Fiona Lo
