It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Edward Sisler, age 67, who passed away peacefully at home on September 20, 2026, surrounded by the people he loved, following a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Don was raised in Newmarket and went to school there, then settled in Richmond Hill and became a lifelong resident his beloved spouse Maria Wadya (Andrew). Don spent nearly his entire career working in computer technology before retiring. He was a devoted younger brother to Peter (Pam) and Brian (Edna). He was predeceased by his older sister, Christine, and both his parents, Monica and Howard.
Don found happiness in the simple and meaningful things in life: playing Mahjong with family, spending time in Ontario’s beautiful Muskoka region, and, above all, enjoying quiet moments with those closest to him.
Those who knew Don will remember him as a quiet, kind and deeply caring man whose generosity was expressed not through grand gestures, but through a lifetime of steadfast love and support. He was someone his family could always depend upon; consistent, thoughtful and reliable, always looking out for the people he loved and quietly making their lives better.
Don will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his immediate and extended family. His gentle nature, generosity and unwavering devotion to those he loved leave a lasting legacy in the lives of everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
