Our beloved father, Don Chee Lim, has passed away peacefully at home on December 2, 2020 in the presence of his family after a battle with cancer at the age of 87. He is survived by his wife Jennie who was by his side for more than sixty years. Together they built a family of doctors, dentist, physiotherapist, pharmacist, and veterinarian. Born in Taishan, Guangdong province, China on December 20, 1932, he pursued a career in western medicine inspired by his mother who was a western medical doctor. He had practiced medicine in China and in Hong Kong for a number of years. When he came to Canada, he had to give up medicine because of the language barrier. His last post was to co-own a pharmacy where he had worked for the rest of his life. He had great interest in the Chinese community in promoting wellness and integration into the main stream Canadian society. He was the chairs and board members and committee members of many organizations. He was well regarded and respected by all those who have come into contact with him. The imprint of his legacy will forever stay in the community. He felt very proud to have two sons Bill and Howard; daughters-in-laws Emily and Eva; grandchildren Hilda, Jason, and Stefanie; grandson-in law Ryan Tuling; great-grandchildren Kyla and Nickolas, and God daughter Cindy and her husband Walter Wong.
He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
