In memory of

Dimitrios Nistas

October 25, 1957 -  January 26, 2024

Dimitrios (Mimi) Nistas
October 25, 1957 - January 26, 2024

Dimitrios passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on Friday, January 26, 2024.

Born on October 25, 1957 to Dimitra and Miltiadis Nistas in Milea, Metsovou. He spent his childhood in Milea before moving on to complete his schooling in Ioannina and Athens, where he graduated from university. He came to visit Canada in 1986 where he found his true love, and decided to make his home here.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Karen and children Myles (Veronika) and Dimitri (Deanna). Dimitrios held many titles in his life, but his favourite was Papou to Dominic, Emma and Lily, who will miss him dearly.

Son-in-law to Vasili and Lambrini Dimoulas. Loving brother to Diamantis (Toula). Brother-in-law to Grace and Jim, Helen and John, and Mike and Lesley, and the best uncle to his nieces and nephews Kenny (Christine), George (Lisa), Billy (Arezoo), Billy, Leana (Trevor) and Miltiadis. He was loved by his great nieces and nephews, Jonothan, Maia, Nadia, Justin, John, Max, Jake, and James, who thought of him and loved him as their own papou.

While Dimitrios will be remembered for many things, his epic Easter Sunday parties, shrimp recipe, passion for soccer, best advice, kefi and overall love for those around him will never be forgotten.

Mimi was loved by his entire family and community and will be remembered forever.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Princess Margaret Hospital.
