In memory of

麥燦文先生 Dick Mack

November 28, 1930 -  February 11, 2018

Dick (Ten Man), beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on February 11, 2018.

Dick was born in Toisan, China on November 28, 1930 and made the decision to come to Canada in 1953 to start a better life. After a few years of hard work, he went back to China, got married and returned to Canada with his new bride. He worked in various restaurants in Saskatoon before opening his own business "Temperance Cafe" in 1972, operating it seven days a week for over 25 years. He finally retired in 1996 and moved to Toronto in 2001 to be with his sons.

Family and friends were the cornerstone of his life. His favorite pastimes were cooking and watching sports. His love of sports started with listening to the Saskatoon Blades on the radio, watching Stampede Wrestling on TV and rooting for his Roughriders, Leafs and Blue Jays. He would always have a smile on his face and would never hesitate to help friends and family. He would always put others before himself. Throughout the years, he managed to help bring many other members of the family to Canada, where they all continue to grow and prosper.

Dick is survived by his wife (Eva), sons and spouses (Darcy & Jenny; Andy & Jessica) and three grandchildren (Emma, Benjamin, Olivia).

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 15th at York Cemetery & Funeral Centre (160 Beecroft Rd, Toronto, ON). Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at 9:30 am, followed by the service at 10:30 am. Following the burial, there will be a lunch held in memory, details will be provided on Thursday.
