Diana passed away peacefully at Providence Heathcare on Monday April 24, 2023 after a long hard battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). She was a member of the nursing profession for 36 years. She worked with and counselled many people with diabetes over the years. She finally retired to be a caregiver to her elderly mother for 5 years. She is predeceased by her parents-Thelma Pearl Phayre (nee Sweet) and her father Roy Joseph Phayre. She is survived by her two siblings-Gary Marshall Phayre (Brother) and Phillip Robert Phayre (Brother), and her sister-in-law Shirley Phayre (nee Kalaman). She was a great daughter, granddaughter, niece, and sister to her family and a friend to her cousins. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations may be made to ALS.ca (The Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis society). A big thank you goes out to the medical staff at the ALS clinic at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre for their support. Thanks goes to the staff at St. Johns Rehabilitation Centre in Toronto. Finally, a big thanks to the PSWs that helped her day after day and who kept her spirits high.
