Derek James Longley, 38, passed away on October 20, 2021 at his home in Ottawa. Born on February 8, 1983 in Scarborough Ontario, Derek was an amazing son to Dianne, brother to Donnie & David, brother-in-law to Daina, uncle to Owen, Kailey Ann, Sophie, Emma, & Olivia, nephew to Gordon (Amie) & Marilynne (Wayne), and a great friend to so many more. The life of the party, funny, and easy going, Derek had a passion for golf and his love for the Montreal Canadiens. Always the favourite uncle when visiting there was never any rest for him as his nieces and nephew would rush to play with him and he was excited to oblige. Smiles were contagious when he was in the room and his laugh will stay with us always, Derek touched so many hearts and will forever be loved by everyone.
