In memory of

Dennis Mark Rogers

April 13, 1947 -  January 16, 2024

Dennis Mark Rogers passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 at age 76 years.

Loving husband of Caroline, beloved son of the late Mark and Grace Rogers. Dear brother of Roberta and her husband Terry Dunlop, and the late Wendy Louise Purvis (survived by her husband David). Fondly remembered by his nieces Elizabeth Dunlop (Bradley); Linda Hornyak (Jerry), and his nephew Robert Dunlop (Katherine). Dennis will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law Carmelita Palma and Ferdeliza Palma, and their children Jason, Jared, and Jeanie as well as by his grandnieces, grandnephews, friends, and relatives.

Because my father-in-law was with the Royal Canadian Air Force, Dennis grew up in various places in Canada and Europe. Being a military brat gave him different cultural experiences and the gift of forging lasting friendships with other brats. He enjoyed hunting and spending time in the bush, his music, in particular Bob Dylan. Dennis loved birds as pets. He took great delight playing with and taking care of our four parrots especially after his retirement.

As was Dennis’ wish, cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held at The Simple Alternative, 1535 South Gateway Road, Mississauga, on February 3, 2024. Viewing is at 10:00am followed by a religious service and reception. Interment will take place at Assumption Cemetery, 6933 Tomken Rd, Mississauga, at 2:30pm.

“Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song, the good life I lived while I was strong.”

Dear Caroline,
I am so glad I had the chance to talk to Dennis just before he passed. I will always remember his "larger than life" personality. He had a dry sense of humour with a heart filled with kindness.
Dennis and I worked together for many years at a Nissan dealership in Toronto. When there was a problem, Dennis would come down from Service to the Parts Department and we would do our best to work out solutions to resolve customer concerns.
Dennis loved birds so much and it was contagious. I bought my parrot, Singent, thirty years ago because of Dennis. I can't imagine Singent not being part of my life. now.
Dennis was quite the character and I had immense respect for him.
We are so sorry for your loss,
Ada and John
