Dena “Konstandina” Galanis

Dena “Konstandina” Galanis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother and grandmother Dena Galanis in her 86th year on January 2nd 2023. Born in Kapsia, Greece on May 14 1936. She was the daughter of Filippas and Marina Stathopoulos.

Dena immigrated to Canada in 1956. In 1958 she married Andreas Galanis, the handsome gentleman who she was introduced to through a photograph. The two of them were married happily for 63 years, until his passing eight months ago on May 4th 2022. She had two children Katerina and Kostas to whom she lovingly mothered. She was never too busy for her children. She was the loving mother-in-law to Jim and Dina.

She was a proud grandmother of five beautiful grandchildren, Francine, Andreas, Deanna (Lucas), Eleftheria and Dimitri that she adored and brought her the greatest of joys. She was the loving older sister of the late Christos (Katina) and Vasili (Dina).

She was an aunt to many nieces and nephews here in Canada and in Greece, which she loved dearly. She loved her cooking and making sure everybody was fully fed, she would not let you leave her house with an empty stomach.

Now as she is held in the arms of our heavenly father, it brings us great comfort knowing she is reunited with the love of her life. We will keep her eternally in our hearts.
