DI CESARE, Dena (nee Tonelli)

Dena passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa surrounded by her family on September 16, 2023 in her 88th year. Predeceased by her husband John Di Cesare (2012) and beloved mother of John, Ann (Sean) and Carol (Leo). Adored by her grandchildren Eric, late Mark, Rachael, Gillian, Francesca and Natalie. Survived by her brother Joe Tonelli. She enjoyed spending time with her friends from curling, lawn bowling and bridge and devoted time to her volunteering in her community. As per her own wishes, no formal services will take place a private celebration will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787) Donations will be gratefully accepted for the Victorian Order of Nurses.

John, Ann and Carol and families,
I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I have many fond memories of her as I was growing up. From sleep overs to birthday parties and just visiting your home. She was a good friend of my moms for many years and she meant the world to her. My mom looked forward to their daily chats. I hope that all of the wonderful memories you have help you get through this difficult time. Sending you hugs.

Carol, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your Mom. I have fond memories of being at your house and her being there with us, and having our moms allow us and then organize and prepare all the food for our Grade 13 Grad pre-party at your house.
