In memory of
Delores Rendall
December 7, 1928 -
October 6, 2018
With profound sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Delores Leon Rendall on Saturday October 6, 2018 at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay in her 89th year. She is predeceased by her son David and husband Robert.
Beloved mother of Rick (Kara), Larry (Vicki), Judy and Steven (Lisa). Cherished Nana of Jamie, Robert, Donovan, Drew, Victoria, Aja, Jeffrey, Daniel, Scott, Meghan and Jacob, Great Grandmother (GG) of Aaron, Alivia, Noah, Logan, Reed, Aydan, Alyssa, and Maisy and Aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
Mom was born on December 7th,1928 in Green Bay Wisconsin (an original cheesehead). When she was 12 she moved to Canada with her parents and sister (Betty). Mom and Dad met and were married in 1948 in Scarborough. Mom worked for the Scarborough Board of Education.
In 1975 Mom and Dad moved north to Stouffville and Mom felt it was time to obtain her drivers license at age 47, and she did! It wasn't long before she was hired to work in the personnel department at Emerson Electric in Markham, where she worked until her retirement.
Throughout the years Mom enjoyed camping. She and Dad spent a lot of time in Burks Falls and Magnetewan before buying a cottage in Norland, where they would spend their summers, and winter in Florida.
Eventually, they moved to Lindsay and for the past 5 months Mom has resided at Lakeland Village Retirement Home.
Mom loved to play cards and board games (rummoli) and on many Saturday nights, she and Dad would kick butt playing darts at the Legion in Stouffville. More recently, Mom enjoyed meeting her girlfriends for a coffee at the local Timmies in Lindsay. She's made many good friends over the years and if you can count yourself as one, you're extremely fortunate.
We would like to invite anyone whose life Mom has touched to join the family on Friday October 12th at 1pm at the Thornton Cemetery in Oshawa at 1200 Thornton Road North for a celebration of Mom’s life with a get together to follow. Service will take place outdoors.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
