In memory of

David Skrypek

November 8, 1959 -  October 31, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Edward Skrypek, with his loving wife of almost 22 years, Darlene, by his side. Better known as Swami to his friends or Big Dave to his nephews, Dave battled cancer for a mere five weeks. He was born in Toronto and eventually moved to Mississauga with Darlene. Dave was the beloved son of Edward and the late Shirley Skrypek, loving brother to the late John (Patti) Skrypek and Michael (Robin) Skrzypek, brother-in-law to Malcom (Julie) Bradshaw and Debbie Dale, “funcle” to Jeff (Sarah), Jake and Nick Skrypek, Matthew and Patrick Skrzypek, Eric (Natalie) Bradshaw, Lisa (Victor) Szeghalmi, Jason (Lindsay) Dale, Jon (Brodie) Dale, Lindsay Dale and great uncle to Tristian Szeghalmi and Dillan and Brandon Bradshaw.

Dave loved to make people laugh and his humour was a source of amusement for many, particularly his nephews. Never having children, Dave took extreme pride in his role as Santa Claus at Christmas parties for many years when his nephews were young and, in later years, became the pseudo dad to Kiki, his beloved parrot. Dave will be dearly missed by those who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Given the current circumstances, Dave’s family will be holding a private service to celebrate his life.

My heart goes out to Darlene and family for the loss of Dave. I met Dave only a handful of times but he was always pleasant, talkative and welcoming. I could see the wonderful relationship he had with Darlene and the love they shared for each other..
