In memory of

David Richard Lyn

May 10, 1955 -  May 12, 2018

After a brief illness David passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He leaves behind his wife of 34 years Pamela (nee Mark) and sons Martin (wife Sandra) and James (wife Renita).

David was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. He attended Robertson Prep School, then Campion College. David was a graduate of McGill University and McMaster University. He obtained his CA designation in 1980 and embarked upon a varied career in corporate finance.

David drew great satisfaction from his family. Nothing gave him more pleasure than spending time with them on his boat or tending to his smoker, creating delicious and often unique recipes for dinner. He spent many hours tinkering on his bicycle or on his small fleet of lawn mowers and snow blowers.

David was predeceased by his parents Reginald and Mary Lyn. He is survived by his sisters and their families; Karen Anne (Bill) and Judi (Noel, Jonathan and Courtney).

A celebration of David’s life will be held at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre. A visitation will be held on Friday May 18th, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. A visitation on Saturday May 19th at 11:00am will be followed by a service at noon. Following the service a reception will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to the Odette Cancer Centre through the Sunnybrook Foundation (donate.sunnybrook.ca/tribute). The funds will be directed towards pancreatic cancer research.

Pamela, Martin and James, please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of David. I have known David to be a loving husband and amazing dad, and in my conversations with him, it is clear that he loved all of you with his entire soul. The loss of David will leave a hole for all of us whom have come to care deeply for him. He was always great with the one-liners and always had me smiling. May the many warm and happy memories of David help you through the difficult days ahead. May David rest in ever-lasting peace. Warmest sympathies and regards, Tom

Pam,
So sorry to hear about the loss of David, it never seems fair when the good ones are taken too soon. There may be time and miles between us, but the memories and bonds of friendship from so many years ago still warms my heart and all I ask is that some of that warmth finds its way back to you at this difficult time.
With love and sadness to you and your family.
Bruce

We had the honor and privilege of working with David. Not only was he intelligent but so much fun to work with. He always had a prank or joke up his sleeve!

Our deepest sympathies. He surely will be missed by all.
