In memory of

David Peter Gellatly

July 31, 1938 -  February 19, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved David (Dave) Peter Gellatly, 83, on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the Cortellucci Hospital in Vaughan of a stroke. Dave's departure has come as a deep shock to all who knew him, particularly given his 5-day-a-week tennis schedule up to his last days.

Dave was a storyteller known for his bright mind, quick wit, charisma, generosity and loving nature. He was loved by all who met him and will always be remembered for his love of life, family and friends.

Dave will be deeply missed by his wife Ninette Elmalem, son Dave Jr. Gellatly (Liam, Kayla, Katie, Joshua, Jonathan, Mya), daughter Laura Gellatly, brother Andy Gellatly (Lee-Ann, Craig, Bryan), and stepchildren, Nathalie Okorofsky (Ethan), Carol Klait (Noah, Daniel), Keren Pertsis (Sebastien, Addison) and Oudi Elmalem (Oliver, Jaxon).

For those desiring, a memorial donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

A visitation and service to celebrate Dave's glorious life will be held at YORK FUNERAL CENTRE located at 160 Beecroft Road on Thursday, February 24th at 9 am. Please bring proof of vaccination and government issued identification. For those who wish to view the livestreamed service, a link will appear at the top of this webpage 10 minutes before the scheduled service start time.
