In memory of

David Louie 呂 炳 輝 先 生

August 2, 1965 -  July 13, 2023

David Louie (呂炳輝), the second son of Yook (Fred) and Shun Louie, passed peacefully on July 13, 2023. He was surrounded by Kim, his loving wife of 25 years, his children, Nicole and Brandon, and family. He is also survived by his father, his brothers and sister, Nathan, Arthur, Katherine and by his extended family of many nieces and nephews who adored and loved him dearly.

David had many characteristics which were loved by all. He was a reliable friend and always there for others. In his professional life, he was known to be determined, hard-working and clever. His sense of humor always made others smile. For those that knew him personally, he was meticulous and full of life. David was a charismatic man, however always humble. He often celebrated others before himself. He never gave up on anything and his strong-willed nature served him through his fight in hospital.

David graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance. He started in accounting, then moved onto real estate. He would eventually transfer his skills to property management. His resourceful nature and amiable personality allowed him to succeed in his career. But above all, he was an attentive father and a caring husband.

Growing up, he was a lifeguard at Sunnyside Pool. David lived an active life and he especially loved Spin classes. He participated in marathons where he raised money for various organizations. He also enjoyed playing squash with family and friends. He would spend his days cooking and enjoying his TV.

David will be missed dearly. He continues to be loved by his friends and family. He rests in peace at Pine Hills cemetery. Special thanks to the staff at Trillium Hospital for the care they provided to David. In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes Canada, Trillium Hospital, and/or Canadian Blood Services would be appreciated by the family.

Though we were not close, a part of me feel a deep sense of sadness. He was so thoughtful to remember our family and tried to keep in touch. During Christmas, I love when he sent me photos of his children, He loved them so.
