In memory of

David Lionel Armstrong

November 20, 1944 -  October 16, 2023

On Monday October 16 2023, we bid a heartfelt farewell to David Armstrong, who passed away after a strong and quick battle with Alzheimer’s disease. David leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Linda Armstrong(nee Wildman) ; and their two sons John (Lisa) and Jeffrey (Jennifer). David is the cherished grandfather of Sophie, Owen and Penelope and, “Uncle Dave” to many nieces and nephews.

David was a car mechanic through trade owning his own auto repair shop; Parkhurst Auto, up until his retirement and a car enthusiast by passion. Through this passion he was the president of Fiat Auto Club; where he met his wife Linda. David also participated in many car rallies throughout the province of Ontario and even spent a year teaching auto mechanics at a local high school. David was an avid sailor, owning many sailboats through out his lifetime, racing some of them to many victories.

David was very involved in his children’s extracurriculars and this lead to him spending much of his free time volunteering. He quickly became, “Coach Dave” and from there he became an executive member of the board with Pleasantview Soft Ball, Pleasantview Hockey and the North York Hockey League. David impacted many lives and will be sadly missed by those who loved him.

A visitation will take place at Pine Hills cemetery Friday October 27 2023 between 2-4pm and 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or Sunny Brook Hospital would greatly be appreciated.

On behalf of the Duffield Hockey family...we want to pass on our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the entire Armstrong Family. David was a wonderful person....his passion for hockey and helping the youth in our community will be long lasting legacy. We will all miss his involvement with the NYHL and the support he provided for to the select program.

God Bless David's family and ease your pain during this difficult time.

I’ve known Dave since I was 10 years old and he always treated me as I was his own. The Armstrong family I’ve always considered family through many dinners, thanksgivings, family events and of course, Jeff’s amazing wedding. Dave was a wonderful father and husband and Grandfather too! He will be missed dearly and his voice will always be heard when I’m on the ice!
