David Lawrence

September 14, 1930 -  October 15, 2016

David Lawrence died peacefully

after a full and spirited life. We
admire David for his strength

challenging time living with
diabetes and vascular disease
He is much loved and

friends. David is survived by his
wife of 38 years Judith Ash, their
children Ashley and Courtney,
his former wife Judy and their
children Kerry and Tracey, and
his children from his first
marriage, Sarah and Paul, and

Vicky and her mother, Elizabeth,
and his sister Joan predeceased
him.
David was the son of Doreen
Carson and Wilfred Lawrence,
born and raised in Montreal. He
moved to Toronto in the 1960s
David had an entrepreneurial
spirit and worked in advertising
and the food brokerage
business. He was an avid golfer
and gifted painter. David was
known for the twinkle in his eye,
his sense of humour and his
dedication to supporting various
community causes. In his later
years his passion for life
continued as he joined
Toastmasters and improv classes
and travelled widely with his
wife, Judith. He will be
remembered for his colourful
storytelling.
David maintained his signature
smile, charm, and positive and
courageous attitude throughout
His family and friends are
grateful to the caring staff at

On behalf of The Treblemakers choir, Richard and I are sending our deepest condolences to all of David's family members. I will remember David's visits to our home with great fondness, as he often accompanied his beloved Judy to her singing lessons with me. That he adored Judy was readily apparent, both in the love in his eyes, and the kind encouragement and praise he bestowed upon her as she sang through her scales and exercises. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. May the memories you have of time shared with David help to bring you some comfort at this sad and difficult time. Penelope Dale

My deepest condolences to the family. David was the sweetest man, always wearing a big smile. You could always tell when he was going to come out with a smart comment just to get you going. I called him Dapper David because he always dressed very smart, especially when he wore his ascot. I love you David.

David was a kind, creative and wonderful soul. I have incredible memories since we were young of all the fun and wonderful adventures David created for us, everything from Halloween fun to Canada's Wonderful and Pooh corner adventures.

David always had a smile on his face, lit up the room when he walked in and made everyone feel welcomed and entertained. His sense of humour and engaging stories were fantastic.

I was always amazed by David's artistic talent and loved watching this change and evolve over the course of his life. He really created spectacular works that we can all cherish for years to come.

I will also remember David's incredible sense of adventure! He had a passion for life and travelled the world. In true David fashion, he always returned with a wonderful wardrobe, fantastic pictures, video and stories for us all.

Last but not least, David made the world a sweeter place. We will miss him dearly but we know his fantastic stories will live on!

Lots of Love.
Alex and Mike
