In memory of

David & Helen Kush

Please join us to celebrate the lives of David and Helen Kush.
David's love and care for his family, and especially for his mother, will always be cherished. His lightning wit, profound knowledge, hilarious story-telling and fun-loving antics are never forgotten. He left a deep impression on his nephew and nieces with his imagination and love. Greatly admired by his friends and revered by his family, now at peace and together with a mother who lived to make all around her happy.
Helen is a shining example of love, perseverance, kindness and awesome energy. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. They know what true, whole-hearted love feels like. Helen was never a woman afraid to say what was on her mind, and could laugh at herself. She graciously battled through 13 years of dialysis, and the premature loss of her husband and son. Even though a fractured neck physically prevented her from raising her head, her vivacious smile and the sparkle in her eyes always seemed to keep her chin up high. In spite of her pain, she never hesitated to help and care for her many friends who together with her family are inspired by her wonderous generosity.
Let's continue to be inspired by sharing happy memories of David, Helen and all those we love and have lost too soon. As well, we hope you can join us just for the joy of getting together and catching up.

Your memory is our keepsake,
With which we'll never part,
God has you in his keeping,
We have you in our hearts.

Dave was one of a kind... his charm was his enthusiasm. He was a great friend... a mensch... and left us too soon.

Dave was always larger than life. From my earliest recollections, Dave was always up to something. He wrote plays we performed in the basement... playing doctor was actually scripted. He showed up at my door in his snowsuit with my dog duchess attached to his arm, asking for it to be removed. He taught me how use a freezer to distill alcohol, when I'd made a batch of peach wine that was too horrible to drink (I was probably 14, and it wasn't his fault). We ran school council as part of a cabal that gave us a private lounge that was also the tuck shop. A lot of other things that can't be mentioned, but were more fun than can imagine. Everything I know about music and culture I learned from the Kush brothers... from Beethoven to the Sex Pistols. He convinced me that he was talking to aliens from Saturn with a radio he had in the crawl space I was too scared to go into, and he summoned demons with his ouiji board, and convinced me that the demons face was coming from behind the bar. Dave had an infinite capacity for mayhem, but some how he always couched it behind a winning smile and endless charm. I don't miss Dave. He's here with me, as he always has been.
