A most amazing man who gave far more to the world than he ever got back in return. That goes for me as it was my honour to be his friend and he always gave to me more than I ever gave to him. He will be part of me for the rest of my life and I will carry him with me always.

For the past 10 year Dave challenged me at every step to be a better teacher and person. Without him there is a hole in education, that we must all work to fill... and in his memory we will work to fill it every day.

Our hearts are saddened with the passing of Dave. Knowing him since he was a young man. Lost touch for many years, met up a few years ago and it was just like we had never been apart. He was the very same, kind, funny, intelligent, wonderful young man we remembered. Always making people feel that they were so important. Heaven has gained an angel. We have lost a friend! Rest in peace!

Dave you have left this world too early, you had so much to offer and love to give. You will be missed so much by everyone you have touched. May you RIP.
Hugs go out to Carly and the girls.

I've known Dave for years from a distance. He supported Right To Play when I worked there and was a strong advocate for the work we do at Jays Care. But our paths never crossed enough. This year, after years of hearing about how wonderful he was from Jules Myer, I had the chance to watch him in action at an amazing event he hosted for youth from across the school board. He was joy, and passion, and light, and creativity, and hope, personified. It was like he was attached to a battery pack. He planned to volunteer this past summer with me at Jays Care to help us innovate and create new programs. I eagerly counted down the months until he would be ready to join us.... I was so sad to hear about his illness and can't believe he is gone.
I'm sending all of my love and support to his family and friends. What a wonderful human - gone far too soon.
Jules Porter
