Dat Cuong Tran, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 4th, 2023, at the age of 64, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on July 20th, 1958, in the small town of Thanh-Tri in Vietnam, Dat was the son of Huong Thi and Dat Chuong Tran.

With his wife, brother, and sister-in-law, Dat founded Tap Phong Trading, a successful business that allowed him to provide for his family and live a fulfilling life. Yet, beyond his business achievements, it was his kindness, generosity, and fondness for his family and friends that defined him.

Dat's infectious smile and positive attitude brightened the lives of those around him, and his willingness to help those in need earned him countless friends and admirers. He valued time with his family and friends, including his wife, De, his children, his grandson, his nieces and nephews.

As we mourn Dat's passing, we take solace in the countless memories we shared with him. We remember his sense of humour and zest for life, and we know that he will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A memorial service for Dat will be held on April 12th, 2023, at York Cemetery & Funeral Centre in North York. We bid farewell to a man who touched many lives. Rest in peace, Dat, you will be missed.
