Daphney Wilhemina Trim nee Benjamin, formerly known as Daphney Khan was born on the 7th of May 1931 to Victor Benjamin and Louisa Fredericks in the Pomeroon River, County of Essequibo, Guyana, South America.
She spent her childhood in the Pomeroon River and often told stories of the very difficult and harsh conditions that they endured as children.
She left the Pomeroon River in search of greener pastures in the capital city, Georgetown.
She did several jobs in her quest to survive in the city and soon became immersed in city life.
Daphney was a very hard worker and strived to maintain a decent standard of living for herself and her children.
She migrated to Canada in the mid 80's where she adapted to life in a new country and faced several challenges.
Daphney was a strong, determined, independent and fearless woman who lived a full, rich life.
Despite the many obstacles that she faced, she remained a very cheerful, grateful, and fearless woman.
We will be forever grateful that God chose her to be our mother.
Our lives have been truly enriched by her guidance.
May you rest in perfect peace, mum.
