In memory of

Daphne Green

December 19, 1942 -  January 16, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Daphne Green of Toronto, Ontario on Thursday, January 16, 2025.

Born in Bethel Town, Westmoreland, Jamaica, Daphne was a woman of immense strength, resilience and compassion who emigrated to Canada alone in the 1960s in search of better opportunities. Never one to let an obstacle stop her, she navigated an unfamiliar system in a new country, worked multiple jobs, and went back to school to upgrade her skills in an effort to support her growing family.

Among Daphne’s proudest accomplishments was raising her four children - Michele, JR, Clive and David. She had an immense love for her children, grandsons - Neil, Jahmaal, Braxton and Maxwell - and great-granddaughters - Aaliyah and Makayla.

Daphne’s passing is deeply felt by her family and all those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of courage, love, and generosity, which will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life for Daphne will take place on Friday, January 31, 2025 in the Birchmount Room at Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Centre beginning at 1 pm.

We will remember “mom” most for her joyful spirit - listening to music, cooking, dancing, smiling and of course laughing. ❤️

Michele,

So sorry for your loss. Your mother sounds like an amazingly strong woman who loved her family. I can see where you got your fierceness from.

I still have the dress that she mended for me. I always think of you and your mother when I wear it.
