In memory of

Alexander D. Telfer

December 12, 1943 -  October 2, 2022

TELFER, ALEXANDER D., B.Eng, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 2nd, surrounded by his wife of 51 years, Jacqui and his boys, Colin and Craig. Alex was born December 27th, 1943 in Paisley, Scotland. He loved his family more than anything, especially his wife, Jacqui who provided unwavering care and support throughout his challenges with Parkinson's in his latter years. Alex worked his career at Ontario Power Generation, where he made life long friendships; from running marathons with his co-workers to creating a soccer team and adding a Scottish flare by MCing many Robert Burns Suppers and introducing HAGGIS to those with the bravery to try it.

Alex is survived by his beautiful wife, Jacqui, sons Colin and Craig; grandchildren Ava, Sebastian, Colby and Zoey; his brothers John and Tom, and his sisters Myra, Libby and Janet. Many thanks to everyone for their outpouring of love and support over the last couple months and days.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday November 6th, 2022 at The Black Dog Pub, located at 87 Island Road in Scarborough, for anyone wishing to attend, please stop by between 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

To the Telfer Family,

Alex was larger than life presence in every room he entered. He was a big man for his day and was just as quick give you a big smile or the Glasgow stare. Craig and I usually got the later. He was a constant figure on the rugby sidelines at Cedarbrae supporting Colin, Craig and their friends.

Alex was a great father raising Colin and Craig to be some of the most influential friends in our communities. It still remember Coin welcoming all of in during a rambunctious Canada Day Weekend with open arms and his big smile and Alex Telfer glare. Craig and I usually got the later.

To my dearest friend Craig. You are one of the most talented people I’ve met in 44 years. It’s amazing how big your heart is and how much you are able love. Zoey and Seb are so lucky! Lucky for me I don’t get the Alex stare very often :)

And to Jacqui. Your grace and poise have always been inspiring. I am so happy that you and my wife Kelly were able to connect over the last couple of years. We are so sorry for your loss. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Kelly and I if there is anything you need. Sending all our love to your family. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Love,

I have very fond memories of Alex and Jackie Cairns at the Burns Suppers. Also not so fond memories of getting an elbow or two from him on the fitba pitch. Rest in peace Big Yin!
