Cowline (Yuk Lan) Anne Lee-Assang, 87, of Toronto, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025.

Born in Guangdong, China, Cowline migrated to Trinidad before eventually settling in Toronto, where she built a life centered on family, love, and faith. She later married Jordan, and together they welcomed their son Jimmy (Diane) - our brother.

She was a cherished grandmother to Joel, Xavier (Patrice), Raquele (Khalil), Adrian (Arrielle), Lyndon (Naomi), Elizabeth (Eric), Abigail, Ethan, Alexander, Mason, Yin, Kaysen and Niyah. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Oliver, Elodee, Ayumi, Xia-Marie, Aizen and Lilyana.

Cowline was a dear daughter to George and Mintai, and loving sister to Pamela, Henry, Winston (late), and Anthony. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her with her kindness and strength.

It is with great sadness to hear of the passing of Lucy's mom. I cannot imagine the void this loss has caused. I am so grateful to read about Lucy's mom's life, and it gives me joy knowing that she lived a good life. My prayers go out to Lucy and her family during this very difficult time. My heart goes out to all her children and grandchildren who will greatly miss her. May she rest in peace.

My deepest condolences you the family of a wonder lady whom I have happy memories of sleep overs as a child in Point Fortin and walking over to the Restaurant as my mom insisted I go out the road to watch Carnival and I was scared so I walked over to Kim Far Restaurant and hung out with my childhood friends Lucy and Joyce until it was time to go home. Aunty was also kind to me and would often ask me “Ama you hungry? You want something to drink?” That was some of my fondest memories of a kind lady. RIP Aunty till we meet again.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I always called her "Assau". Yes, Cowline loved her children and made great sacrifices to ensure that they grew to maturity so that they could take care of themselves. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Deepest condolences come from Uncle Michael and myself at the passing of Cowline. May the God of all Comfort support you with His love, mercy and Grace.
