Constantinos Ioakimidis

September 14, 1941 -  April 17, 2023

Dear Family and Friends,

It is with a great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved and loving Patriarch Constantinos(Gus) Ioakimidis . He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who touched the lives of so many people in both his birthplace in Greece and in Canada. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.

Constantinos was a kind, compassionate, and loving person who always put others before himself. He had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on his face. He had a passion for caring and was always trying to help those in need.

He was a devoted husband of Vasiliki for 59 years who both shared a wonderful life enriched with loving memories and blessed with three children George, Anna and Stella including Son and Daughter-in laws (George and Dimitra) and spoiled and loved his grandchild Margarita unconditionally.

Constantinos was an adventurer and outdoorsman who loved to hunt and travel and explore. Costas was honored to be chosen from a handful of military elite personnel to be the personal bodyguard of king Constantine of Greece who has himself recently passed away.. Costas was privileged to escort and protect President Makarios III the first president of Cyprus in the early 1960's as well..

Constantinos lived a full life and made a lasting impact on so many people. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and his love for life. He will be missed dearly but his memory will live on forever in our hearts.

Friends may call at St. Panteleimon Greek Church, 11323 Warden Avenue, Markham on Monday, April 24, 2023 for a visitation starting at 10:30 a.m., the funeral mass will begin at 11:30 a.m. An interment to follow at ELGIN MILLS CEMETERY.

Dear Dad,

It's been a few days since you left this world, when you were right beside me. The memories of our times together are still fresh in my mind, and I cherish them even more now that you're no longer with us.

You were not only my father but also my best friend. I could confide in you and share anything with you without fear of being judged. You listened to me and encouraged me every step of the way. You taught me so much about life, love, and perseverance that no book could ever contain.

You were a man who lived a life of honor and integrity. Everyone who knew you loved you because you were kind, respectful, and always had a smile on your face. You never raised your voice or hurt anyone, and that came effortlessly. You were a hardworking man who dedicated everything he had to ensuring that his family was happy and comfortable. You lived for us, and we felt it every day.

Your devotion to mom and us, your children, was unwavering. Even in your last days, you fought to stay with us, to see your grandchildren grow up, and to continue being the backbone of our family. But your time had come, and we could not hold on to you any longer.

I am grateful for the memories we shared, and I will carry them with me forever. I will remember the laughter we shared, the bond we build, and the love we had for each other. Even though you're not here, I will continue to live my life in a way that honors you and the values you instilled in me.

I miss you, Dad, more than words can express, and every day, I wish I had just one more moment with you. But I know that you're in a better place, watching over us with love and pride.

Rest in peace, Dad. You will forever be missed.

Lovingly,

Your Son George
