In memory of

Constantinos Gus Prattas

March 9, 1926 -  July 28, 2020

In loving memory
PRATTAS, Konstantinos passed away in his 95th year peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on July 28, 2020, the 40th day of the passing of his beloved wife Eleni. They were together for more than 74 years and he wanted to join her to continue their love journey together in eternity.
He was the longest living member of the Prattas clan. He will be sadly missed by his children and grandchildren and their respective spouses, his great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law and nephews and nieces. He was fiercely devoted to and loved his family dearly, always stressing the importance of getting a good education. Spending time with his family gave him great joy throughout his life.
He and his late wife, Eleni, lived through hardships and difficult times including World War II, the great famine of 1941, the German occupation of Greece, and the Greek Civil War, as well as the immigrant experience upon their arrival on the friendly and welcoming shores of Canada. His three years in the army left an indelible impression upon him.
With determination, perseverance and hard work, always together with his beloved wife by his side, working with him and supporting him, he became a successful businessman, and always working together with his surviving two brothers.
He was involved in various community endeavors including serving on the Council of the Greek Community of Metropolitan Toronto and other organizations, and being the founder and President of the Skoura-Varvitsa Brotherhood of Canada. He loved playing the clarinet including at weddings, various celebrations and family gatherings.
He will be remembered for his devotion and love of family, sense of humor, astute business acumen, his superb negotiating skills, his wit and incredible story-telling talent, and lending many a helping hand.
A private funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 and he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation to the Hellenic Hope Center for Persons with Special Needs at 3615 Danforth Avenue, Scarborough ON M1N 2G1
