In memory of

Colin Peters

January 27, 1958 -  June 17, 2018

It is with great sadness that Sylvia and Norman Peters, of Winnipeg, announce the passing, on June 17, 2018, of their beloved third son Colin Gerald, previously of Winnipeg and Thompson but latterly of Toronto.

Colin who celebrated his 60th birthday earlier this year whilst vacationing in Mexico, was born in Spain where he spent his first four years. After the next six years in England, he accompanied his parents to Canada in 1967. Colin, who held a degree in Political Science, worked as an IT Business Consultant, met his partner, Shanaz Bahrami, in 2000 and they have been together since. He spent as much time as possible at his beloved cabin on Lake Simcoe where he was able to indulge in his favourite pastimes such as swimming, scuba diving, kayaking, fishing and birdwatching. His sense of humour, loyalty to friends and his generosity were legendary.

He leaves behind to mourn his wife Shanaz, her brother Reza (Tanaz) and daughter Shayda, his parents, Sylvia and Norman, Brothers, Adrian (Nora), Nigel (Janice) and Gareth (Ursula), nieces, Lyndsey and Lauren, and nephew Andrew.

I am so very sorry that Colin has left us as such a young man...Lord knows he will be missed by those of us he has left behind.

I will always remember our fishing mornings up at Nine Mile Lake with great fondness.

God speed, Colin...RIP.

Dear Colin,
You are greatly missed.
It was a pleasure to work with you.
Our office will not be the same.

I only knew and worked with Colin for a bit over a year, but in that short time he became a key part of my daily life. Colin was bigger than life and a force of nature. I miss him so!

Till we meet again my friend.... Crash

My condolences on Colin’s passing. Although I worked with Colin for only a short time his kindness and support was ever present. He will be so sadly missed.

So many memories of working together, serving on a Board of Directors and sharing a love for Balsam Lake and family.

Our Nahmian family is still reeling from the news. So hard to believe that such a character is now in another dimension(sure hope there is water there). There are many, “I just can’t believe it.” “How is this possible?” “How is Shanaz and family?” “How about Colin’s parents and brothers?” Statements here- still hasn’t really sunk in.

With a heavy heart, we wish our friend and his family peace, and embrace all the kindness and memories forever.
