In memory of

Colette Renee Brodeur

May 23, 1960 -  April 13, 2023

On Thursday April 13th at 11:59 p.m. Colette Brodeur passed quietly in the ICU at Michael Garron Hospital with her loving sister Tara by her side.

A lover of all things quirky she appreciated most good literature, good art, good food, good laughs, and good people.

She is survived by her son Austin, her grandson Edgar, her mother Charlotte, and a myriad of other family members who love and miss her so much.

A private family service will be held at a date yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes to honour Colette’s memory is welcome to make a donation to the Toronto Humane Society - a place very dear to her heart.

Dear Brodeur family, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I worked closely with Colette before going on maternity leave at the end of 2021. I was part of the team that hired her. I knew she would be a special colleague from the start - her sincere, positive and can-do attitude were immediately apparent. She was such a delightful person to work with. She always went above and beyond the task at hand, she was always there for others. I would tell her often that it was not necessary to respond to emails on her days off. I'll miss her kindness, dedication and support very much. She threw me a staff baby shower before my daughter was born and I'll never forget how incredibly special she made me feel that day. It was the only baby shower I had because of the pandemic. She was always asking about my daughter and always saying that seeing her photos made her day (in fact those were the last words we exchanged the Tuesday before she passed). I still can't believe she's gone. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Gone way, way, way too soon :( Best, Lauren

Treasure the memories you made with her, for like pure gold, they will neither tarnish nor grow old.

Colette was a pleasure to work with over the last 3 years. She was always helpful, smiling, and positive. Her impact was the positive energy she added to each human interaction. She was truly special in this way. I'm grateful we met and I'll cherish her memory.
