In memory of

Clarence 'Clare' George Banks

April 14, 1935 -  October 19, 2023

In his 89th year, Clare passed away on October 19, 2023. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Noreen, children Lisa (Barb Shopland) and Greg (Belinda), granddaughter Ashley (Jesse Neilson), close friends and extended family. Clare enjoyed a lengthy career with Bell Canada having worked in Ontario and Quebec and eventually Saudi Arabia which inspired a keen interest in global travel. A voracious reader, passionate family man, loyal friend, and dedicated fan of the Leafs, Jays and Argos, he was the eternal optimist and lived a full, wonderful life.

The family wishes to thank the staff and healthcare team at the Leacock Care Centre in Orillia for taking such good care of Clare during his stay with them.

As per his wishes, there will be no service, instead a small gathering will be held at a later date.

Those wishing to donate in Clare’s memory might consider the Orillia Public Library or your local library.

You can know someone by what they create. Mr Banks has a great family and extended family. They all love to laugh, probably the greatest way to make your way through life. Its among the best legacies, the legacy of laughter.

Dear Noreen, Greg and Lisa, Belinda and Barb and your families. We are saddened to hear of Clare's passing. We remember lots of laughs at wine and cheese parties and golf tournaments at the cottage through the years. The circle of life is sometimes a long and difficult circle but at the end, with faith, all will be filled with peace, calmness and no pain. Hold on to the good memories..
With love to you all.
