In memory of

Chung-Wei Ho

October 27, 1942 -  December 27, 2016

Chung-Wei Passed away peacefully on December 27, 2016 after battling with lung disease. Beloved husband of Kuei-Chih for 47 years, he was her “everything”. Cherished father of Ching-Ting and Li-Wei (Kathleen). Exceptionally proud “Ye Ye” of his loving granddaughter, Victoria. Faithful Brother to Chang-Shen (Hsueh-Ying) and uncle to their two children and two grand children. Social in his younger years, as time went on he adopted a quiet demeanor. When Chung-Wei spoke, everyone listened. Chung-Wei was a true family man and everything he did, he did for his family. He wanted nothing more than to know his family was taken care of and did not need to worry for anything. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences on the passing of a wonderful family man. In the short time we have had to know him, we will never forget the love he had for his family, and especially his granddaughter Victoria. His face would light up whenever she was near, and she equally loved her YeeYee. He was such a kind hearted person who will be greatly missed, but his legacy will continue to live on with the beautiful family he has left behind.

May he rest in peace,

Josh, Ashley, Mateo and Melina.

Chung-Wei Ho was born on October 27, 1942 in Sichuan province of China. In 1949, his family retreated with army and moved to Taiwan to escape the communist China. He excelled in primary school and with exceptional exam result, he was honored with being admitted to a provincially run middle school; one of only three student out of the three graduating classes from his school that year. During his high school years, Chung-Wei was excelled in math and science; however, he only did well in arts and music. Which resulted in his need to attend summer school to turn his good grades into exceptional grades for the subject of arts and music.
Following his time in middle school, Chung-Wei was accepted to provincial high school to become an electrician. While in trade school, he was accepted into Taiwanese Air Force’s Officers College in 1961. In 1963 he was one of the 16 officers which graduated from his the original class of 48 students. He spent the next 17 years serving his country as a pilot where he earned various awards before taking an early retirement in September of 1980.
After leaving the Air Force, Chung-Wei and his family immigrated to Paraguay, where he started a small gift shop. Looking for better life and better future for his family, he once again took the family and immigrated to Canada in August of 1980. He opened a small jeweler store in Canada. With the down turn in Canada’s economy at the time he made the difficult decision to go to Guatemala by himself and started a watch assembly and importing business. Chung-Wei took comfort in knowing he was able to provide for his family and that they are taken care of. In 2011, he returned to Canada and retired due to health issues. His final years where spend mostly with his wife, children and grandchild.
