In memory of

Chun Hung "Andy" Chan

January 16, 1936 -  June 20, 2021

Andy was a proud man and lived his life with pride.

He passed away peacefully at Michael Garron Hospital (formerly Toronto East General).

Battling Heart Disease and Diabetes

He lived a good life and he will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, and three children.

He is survived by his sisters, nieces, nephews, and grandson.

At a young age, Andy left his homeland to North America to seek a better life and to provide financial assistance to his family back home.

After returning back to Hong Kong he married and soon after left to begin his journey in Toronto with his new bride, Lin and infant girl.

At times it was difficult and through hard work and determination, Andy realized one of his goals to become a Chef and in time own and operate a successful restaurant for many years thereafter.

It was important for him to buy a home in East Toronto to raise his three children

A most generous man who sponsored relatives back home to give them an opportunity to come to Canada to have a better life.

His favourite past times were trying new restaurants, playing mah jong, and picking winners at the race track.

On his down time he enjoyed going with his kids to the CNE, High Park, riding bikes at Allan Gardens. During these occasions he would indulge the kids with treats from the restaurant or snacks from the corner store.

He enjoyed a favourite Canadian pastime, “Hockey.” He watched and cheered for the Leafs but often eluded to the fact that , “Leafs were no good.”

A family man at heart he would enjoy sharing his life experiences. Instilling to his children the importance of a quality education and to be financially responsible.

He loved critiquing different cuisines in restaurants and often coached his children on how to enhance their dishes.

Andy was not all about talk. Instead he demonstrated how much he cared by his actions.

He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Lin, children, Eva, Arthur and Barbara, son in-laws, Lorne and Derek, and grandson, Kayden

He will forever remain in our hearts and minds.

Rest in peace.
