In memory of

Christos Mandrapilias

April 25, 1925 -  April 1, 2024

Christos Mandrapilias passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Toronto on April 1st, 2024 in his 98th year. Greeted lovingly in Heaven by his wife of 65 years, Vasiliki, he is survived by his 5 children; Stella (Rick), Eva (George), George, Argie (Barry), and Ellen (Joe). Christos was dear papoú to 7 grandchildren (Kristin, Jamie, Jessica, Christopher, Katrina, Elizabeth, and Michael) and propappoús to 5 great-grandchildren (Iris, Nikolai, Julian, Ivy, and Isabel).

Christos was born in Koumousta, Greece and came to Canada in 1967 with his family. Christos made his living delivering bread to various restaurants throughout downtown Toronto. He had a brilliant mind and a passion for working with his hands. You would often find him in his garden tending to his many vegetables, well into his nineties. He was also a self-taught woodworker and craftsman who carved steins, animals, and small barrels which each of us will forever cherish. As a handyman, he strived to come up with ingenious and inventive ways to tackle repairs and create solutions for difficult problems. In his downtime you would often find him at his kitchen table doing Sudoku puzzles.

He will be deeply missed and will remain forever in our hearts. Christos is resting at York Funeral Centre. Viewings will be held on Monday, April 8th 2024 from 6pm to 8pm, and Tuesday, April 9th 2024 at 9:30am with a service beginning at 10:30am. Reception to follow.
