Our dear Ba passed away peacefully at the age of 89 after a valiant fight to live.
Christos leaves behind his close-knit family, including his beloved wife of 59 years, Voula, children Jim (Giulia), Alexandra (David), and Gus (Vanessa), and his treasured grandchildren Chris, Nick, Lola, Evie and Emily. The lack of any extended family in Canada only strengthened the familial bonds.
Christos emigrated from Volos, Greece, and met his future wife on a Toronto streetcar after overhearing her speak Greek. He toiled laboriously to provide for his family and dreamed of returning to Greece. However, continued self-sacrifice led him to stay in Canada to give his children better opportunities. He was deeply devoted to his family.
Christos also loved his many friends, his parea. He was generous and much admired, and his good nature and humour would brighten a room. He was a dedicated friend, regularly visiting friends during their late-in-life illnesses.
Christos enjoyed family gatherings, music, tending to his vegetable garden, and spending long afternoons on his porch. He loved life passionately.
He will be deeply missed and never forgotten by his loving family.
