In memory of

Christopher Douglas Heddon

January 31, 1952 -  July 4, 2024

Christopher Douglas Heddon, 72, passed away in his home in Toronto on July 4, surrounded by family. Chris dedicated 32 years to his career at IBM but more recently in his retirement he found joy in his garden, at the gym, on the golf course and playing with his grandchildren.

Chris exhibited unwavering strength and resilience throughout his diagnosis with melanoma and subsequent brain cancer. His compassion and sense of humour continued to comfort those around him in his final days.

His memory will be held close by Jill, his loving wife of 46 years, children Zachary (Ale), Stephanie and grandchildren Sofia and Ayrton.

To Jill, Zach and Steph,
I am so sorry for the loss of Chris. He was one of the best "friend dads" around. His ability to encourage us to push our limits while also keeping it in check was so meaningful (and came so naturally to him). We were all lucky to have experienced it. I remember he watch that boat in his driveway for months...chill...calm...collected, but also dumbstruck. None the less, he never stopped or slowed us down, even though he probably knew the outcome before we did! I always enjoyed hanging out with him at the house, and he never flinched at having all those teenagers around. He was also a great hockey road trip chauffeur and fan.
He will be greatly missed
Grant

My sincere condolences to you Jill and all of your family. I met Chris when his family moved to Don Mills around 1958. We lived across the street from one another on Lacewood Cres. Although a grade apart, we attended Three Valleys, Milneford and GSH together. Although our paths have’t crossed since, my husband Martin and I have fond memories of him. I know he will live on in your hearts.
