In memory of

Christopher Collings

February 25, 1929 -  November 17, 2023

Christopher went peacefully to be with the Lord after a six week hospital stay.  He was born in England where he was raised during World War II with his siblings, the late Raymond Collings and Gillian Brough (married to Graham). He emigrated to Canada in 1951 which was advertised as “the land flowing with milk and honey”. Eventually he landed a job at General Motors in Oshawa where he worked for 42 years on the assembly line. Chris enjoyed gardening, watching old movies, automobiles, reading newspapers, discussing politics with whoever would listen and playing his organ.

Christopher met his best friend and beloved wife of 67 years, Florence, at a YMCA dance in Toronto. She didn't like him at first! They bought two acres of land north of Oshawa where he built his own house and where they raised their three children.

Besides his wife and children along with their spouses, he leaves his six much loved grandchildren, his first great grandchild that he just met for the first time this past August, a sister-in-law in Nova Scotia, many fondly remembered cousins in England and several cherished nieces and nephews.

He hopes that lemon pie will be the main food served in heaven!!!
