In memory of

Christopher Andrew Packer

August 26, 1969 -  January 2, 2025

“When all are one and one is all”

Chris passed away on January 2nd, 2025 in the ICU at Lakeridge Health Oshawa after a brief illness with family by his side.

Despite lifelong struggles with his mental health, Chris remained involved with family and his personal interests.

He was most proud of his sons Andrew, Thomas (Nicole), and David. Pre-deceased by father Art and his beloved Golden Retriever, Max, he will be sadly missed by mother Janet and sister Robin (Danny), niece Ellen (Eric) and nephews Ian and Nicky.

Chris had a gifted mind, having studied biology at McGill University. He still keenly followed the markets and business, he had started his own corporation, Almaguin Scientific Corporation, in the hopes of making real his idea to stop the decline of the bee population. He loved sports and played hockey from a young age in house league to rep, junior B, and then at McGill. Later he coached his boys’ baseball and hockey teams. He watched or listened to professional sports whenever he could. He had a passion for nature and conservation, fishing, and his favourite place, the Strachan cottage on Loon Lake.

Family and friends are invited to attend a remembrance celebration at Bollock’s Pub and Kitchen, 30 Taunton Rd E, Whitby, on Saturday March 1st, 2025 from 1pm to 4pm.
Please wear your best plaid flannel shirt!
