Christine Mary Thompson

December 14, 1949 -  March 4, 2017

Christine was born on December 14, 1949 in Toronto, she passed away on March 4, 2017 surrounded by her family at home. Chrissy will be remembered with love by her husband Wayne, daughter Sheila and grand children Tyler, Alisha, and Raquel. She is survived by her brothers Mike (Shan), John (Sylvie) and her sisters Kathy (Jim) and Rita (Phil). A special thank you to Rita for her help and support. She will be missed by her mother in law Evelyn and her four legged daughter Gub Gub. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Durham Regional Cancer Centre. Also, the in home nurses for their support and care, especially to Joan. Chrissy has truly become an angel now. Arrangements are entrusted to Thornton Cemetery and Funeral Centre (1200 Thornton Road, Oshawa, 905-579-6787). A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences can be made to www.etouch.ca

We were children together and then like in many families, lost touch for too many years. We had updates from John, from time to time but of course it isn't the same. We reconnected again when Chris became ill and I was able to meet the wonderfully strong, optimistic and caring person she had become. A visit and a few phone calls are all we had but Chris will be remembered as a very special person in my family.
