We will miss her. She was bright and cheerful. May God blessed her and rested in peace.
Tony, take good care of yourself.

My aunt, Christina Chan, lived a great and storied life! I have many wonderful and fun memories with my aunt. She would sing to me, “You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,” when she was babysitting me and other times she would sing, “Que sera, sera, whatever will be, will be.” One of her favorite artists was ABBA. Christina was a joyful spirit! She was always the life of the party, a small or large gathering, she had everyone’s attention!
She loved to have a good time. For her daughter, Veronica’s wedding, it was a huge and festive gathering and everyone had a great time! Her 50th wedding anniversary party was no less of a celebration - with tasty food and dancing and music, Christina was an avid party enthusiast! One of my favorite memories of us together as a family was at her home in Richmond Hill - it was just a casual night with us enjoying food and conversation and playing mah jong. I surprised my aunt by winning a game of mah jong against her but in the end she whooped my butt! It was no contest!
She was also a fierce champion of her loved ones’ rights. My mom, Lisa (Christina’s sister), my dad Ralph, my uncle, Tony (Christina’s husband) and I went on a cruise in the Caribbean in 2008. Christina was an experienced cruiser and she wanted us to have a good time; our assigned table in the dining hall wasn’t in a great section, and Christina, angling with the staff for the table with the best view, got us a table with a view of the grand staircase in the dining hall where they had dinner shows and a wide view of the rest of the hall. It was one of the best cruises we took! Any time with Christina Chan was a fun time!
Whenever I talked to her on the phone, she would always mention her only daughter, Veronica, and her grandchildren, Matthew, Alyssa, and Kristyn. She was always so proud of their independence and talents.
I will miss my aunt dearly. She could always tell by the tone in my voice whether I was having a good day or not. She always ended our phone calls by saying she loved me. Rest in peace, dear aunt Christina. We will meet again. Love you!
Christine had a colorful life. She was a lovely aunt of my daughter. Christine was witty and smart. She loved hosting parties. Anyone who had been to Christine’s party could never find it boring. She was definitely one of a kind. It had been exciting and interesting knowing you, Christine! Rest in peace. May God bless you.
Kiu TSE, you're in my thoughts and prayers. Will never forget your friendliness and laughter.
