Christel Jacob (nee. Schellnack), age 90, of Scarborough, Ontario passed away peacefully at Rouge Valley Centenary Hospital on November 3rd, 2019. Christel was born in Iserlohn, Germany on December 25th, 1928 to Theresa and Hermann Schellnack. She moved to Toronto from Germany with her young family in 1961 to start her new life in Canada. Christel worked as an Office Supervisor at Scotiabank until her retirement in 1989. Her happiest memories were at the cottage; swimming, canoeing and playing scrabble. She also loved her community and playing cards with friends every week at the Gates of the Guildwood.
Christel is survived by her two daughters Christa Timm (Mel Pierce) and Frances Schwering (Robert) and two granddaughters, Taralyn Schwering and Monika Schwering (Adam Lauzon). She was predeceased by her parents, brother Hermann Schnellack and partners Wolfgang Jacob and Franklin Atkinson. A Celebration of Life will be held at 20 Guildwood Parkway in the Event Room on Friday the 8th of November at 3:30pm.
