In memory of

Charles Robert Hunt

“Robert”

In the comfort and care of Oak Ridges Hospice (Port Perry), after a brief battle with cancer, Robert left his worldly cares behind. Dear Papa to grandchildren Catherine, Declan, Valentina, loving father of Jacqueline
(Douglas) and David. Also remembered by Larissa. Robert was predeceased by his wife and soulmate, Roberta Cullingham (daughter, Caitlin and granddaughter, Liliana). Sister, Janet (Bert) will miss him. Robert will be fondly remembered by Shirley, his dear friend, travel and bridge companion, and Geoff, a long time friend and cribbage rival.

Robert was a longtime associate at McDougall Insurance and felt a close connection with his clients. Robert enjoyed his Brighton cottage, and loved the opportunity to work on his 67 Plymouth GTX with his cousin, Tim. Robert enjoyed the camaraderie of his curling mates.

Many thanks to his supportive St. Paul’s United Church community who meant so much to Robert.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Paul’s at 65 King’s Crescent, Ajax on October 28th at 2:00 pm

Donations to St. Paul’s United or Oak Ridges Hospice greatly appreciated.

Robert was not a close friend however, he is remembered fondly as my friend Janet’s brother. The first time I met Robert was many years ago at Janet’s birthday, when I drove everyone home after dinner, being the designated driver, it was a very happy evening. More recently some friends and I rented his cottage near Brighton. He was always helpful, and had a lovely sense of humour. He is sadly missed, I do take solace in that he is no longer suffering, and I know he is at peace in a better place.

I was a dear friend of Roberts from 2015 to the end of his short illness. We helped each other get over our former happy marriages. We travelled out west several times visiting family members . We had many trips together to Europe, Newfoundland, Ireland and spent our summers at Inverhuron Beach .During the Fall and Spring time was spent at Robert’s Brighton cottage. Socializing with friends and family playing Bridge and Curling was always great fun.Robert will be so missed by my family and all our wonderful friends. Everyone enjoyed his company. He was such a great fun friend.
