"I love you a bushel and a peck a bushel and a peck and a hug around my neck a hug around my neck and a barrel in a heap a barrel in a heap Nd I'm talking in my sleep about you, you Boop boopie do. YOU. I will hold onto to our last 10 months together tighter than you can imagine. Love you forever and always Dad. Xoxoxo
Grandpa was the type of person who always had something funny (and inappropriate) to say. He was young at heart- so much fun to be around and always the life of the party. He brought so much craziness and laughter to our family. He was a fighter... and a survivor. He survived two cancer diagnoses and did it with grace and even on the hardest days he smiled his way through with his PMA (positive mental attitude). I always thought I got the fight in me from my grandmother but looking back I think it also came from him. He was an inspiration to all of us with just how much he overcame in his lifetime.
He loved and cherished every single one of his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids- even if he was harping on us for one thing or another we still knew how much he cared. He was there during some difficult times and was always there to give his advice even if it was unsolicited lol. He was always getting into trouble in one way or another but that's just grandpa and how could you really stay mad?
We had some great times together. I'm going to miss his stories, the car rides, him lovingly calling me Brit the Brat, the random drop ins, crazy adventures and the way his eyes lit up when he laughed. Im going to miss his humor and I'm even going to miss his harping on me for not naming my son Chuck after him lol. Landon (his little Elton) will miss him alot too. There were many times when he would come running to me after another health update so excited saying "mommy.. GG is starting to feel better.. that's good news!" My son loved his GG to pieces.
I hope you're at peace and having a blast up there Grandpa. Please.. try not to give nana too hard of a time up there would ya?! Love you forever and S.W.A.K.
