In memory of

Charles Frederick Beers

May 21, 1934 -  May 27, 2022

Died peacefully after a short stay in hospital on May 27th, 2022 in his 89th year.
Freddie was the loving husband of Demarris for over 64 years. He was a kind and devoted father to his children, Kathryn (Wayne) and the late Greg (Debbie). He was a proud Papa to his grandchildren Megan, Colin, Katie and Erin.

Freddie emigrated to Canada from Northern Ireland in 1956 and worked hard to build a life with Dee. He owned a successful insurance brokerage, Benness and Beers, for over 40 years.

He spent the better part of his leisure time playing tennis and was a force to be reckoned with on the court. He cherished the friendships he made along the way. No matter where Freddie was his laughter and love of life was infectious. He was the life of the party, loved music and having fun.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Centenary Hospital for the care and compassion during his stay there.
A visitation will be held on Thursday June 2, 2022 from 4-8pm at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centres - Pickering, 1057 Brock Road, Pickering. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday June 3, 2022 at 2pm, with a visitation 1 hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Cheers to Beers once again.

Cheers to Beers indeed. 🍀
My heart goes out to the entire Beers clan.
They are such an incredibly loving and generous family. They have already suffered tremendous losses but I find comfort in knowing they are so supportive of one another and they will find ways to heal together. They are an optimistic family and committed to living life rather than wallowing in grief. Their resilience does not mean they move on without their loved ones but rather that they find a way to embrace the memories and the essence of their dearly departed family members by including their ideals in everyday life. They tell stories and maintain traditions like the best of them.
To be friends with one of Beers blood, is to be family. I am fortunate enough to call myself one of their extended family (friends) because of how whole heartedly they embraced me into the fold so many years (decades) ago. Shauna’s family and the legacies left behind from Gramps (Pops), Pete, Greg and Uncle Freddie are unforgettable. They all loved, laughed and lived life to its very fullest. Uncle Freddie will be mourned deeply but his legend will live on and provide strength and laughter in good times and bad.
I wish I were there to give you all big hugs and cheers many pints of Guinness to Uncle Freddie and the rest of the Beers boys.
Love Nes & family

Freddy and family are tennis legends around Scarborough. He is co-founder of the infamous game 'bullshit bridge' with 35 wild cards. He is a member of the 'guys weekend club'.
Freddy will be truly missed.
